  • You cannot make fruit grow any faster. As long as it’s in a good environment with all the proper nutrients then it’s capable of maturing within the set timing. Trying to manipulate it to growing faster could ruin it. The same goes for people. We have to allow people the opportunity and grace to ripen within their set time. Our expectations of what they should become or should do cannot hurry that process. Just plant seeds of encouragement in those around you, water those seeds every chance you get and pray that God gets the increase out of it all.
  • Is God trying to get your attention? Is He telling you to do something right now that you’ve decided to put off for another day? If this is you, know that obedience is better than sacrifice. He’s calling you for a purpose—His purpose. He’s taking you from old to new; from slavery to a new exodus. It’s time for a new normal—an escape from the world you’ve always known.

  • I've come to this awesome revelation that a life lived without purpose is dreadful, depressing, and uneventful. I know because I've experienced it. No one desires to just exist; we desire to truly live.
•
I was told by someone when I was a kid that I should become a doctor, but his reasoning was because he felt like doctors made a lot of money. If I would've taken his advice, I would've been miserable! Nothing about the profession interests me, but there are people in the world who are truly passionate about it. They live in underprivileged countries just to serve the less fortunate because it's not about money to them. They're living a life of purpose and fulfillment instead of chasing money and status.
•
I couldn't imagine doing anything other than what I'm privileged to do now and living a life of purpose and fulfillment. All of the gifts He's given me are on full display when I’m doing what I’m doing what I’m purposed to do. It's in that place that I'm at "home." Unfortunately, I know people who live their lives chasing money and titles, and they're MISERABLE. They make great money, but they lack fulfillment.
•
I don't know about you, but I refuse to stand before my Lord and tell Him that I chose a path because of money, prestige, pressure from family or the like. I fully intend to pour everything out and fulfill the ministry He's given me. And, I'm determined to help others do the same thing!

The more I pondered over this harpooneer, the more I abominated the thought of sleeping with him. It was fair to presume that being a harpooneer, his linen or woollen, as the case might be, would not be of the tidiest.

  • The wilderness is a metaphorical terrain that sits between the old and the new; the dividing wall between what was and what will be—the pathway from Egypt to the Promised Land. It is a place of preparation.
•
Are you in the wilderness right now and yearning for a voice to provide hope, guidance, peace and protection? There’s purpose in the wilderness, and God isn’t absent.
•
Join us tomorrow morning at 9:30am or 11:30am at @thegochurch as I journey through the Scriptures to provide hope, guidance and peace for those who currently feel like they’re in a wilderness experience.

  • Sooooo, I stood behind this statue over 10 years ago waiting for @heatherllove to come down the escalator for our first date. I already knew that I wanted to marry her. I was hoping she felt the same way about me. We spent the prior 4 days doing a lot of texting and talking on the phone (I lived in South Atlanta and she lived in New York). Being back in that same spot last night was special. It was outside the upstairs bathroom after our date where I told Heather that I wouldn’t kiss her until our wedding day. To relive that moment in that place was amazing. I’m reassured of the decision I made over 10 years ago.
